ATTENDANCE POLICY

Regular attendance is key for dancers to safely progress in their classes.

It is also extremely important when it comes to preparing for our various performances, as group dances are dependent on practicing together with the whole class. Students missing multiple classes when learning/rehearsing group dances can pose a safety risk not only to themselves, but also their classmates.

Specific attendance policies are in place for Level 1 and up students as we approach our end of year Spring Production:

  • A student may only miss TWO classes during the final two months before spring production. For additional classes missed, the student may be required to schedule and pay for a private lesson with their dance teacher to make up for the dance time missed. In addition, a student cannot miss ANY class the final two weeks before spring production. If they do, the above private lesson requirement may be enforced by the instructor.

  • Students may not miss ANY rehearsals that are held during production week at the theater. Any breach of this attendance policy may result in the student not being allowed to perform in the Spring Production. This will be at the instructor’s discretion. No refunds will be given in this case.

  • If you have any unavoidable conflicts as we near our spring performances, please talk to your instructors ahead of time so that we can work to accommodate you. Exceptions to the above policies may be made on a case by case basis, but communication is key!

MISSED CLASSES

No tuition adjustments or refunds will be made for missed classes. All classes will be available to join via Zoom if you are unable to attend in person and will be automatically recorded for anyone who is absent. Students will have the opportunity to catch up on everything they may have missed by watching their class recordings.

SNOW DAYS

With our ability to run classes remotely, snow days are a thing of the past! If area schools are closed due to bad weather, we will contact you by noon with one of the following options:

  • CLASS WILL RUN AS USUAL - The instructor plans to come to the studio and run class as usual. Families should use their judgment and if they do not feel comfortable traveling, they may attend from home via Zoom or request the recording of class.

  • CLASS WILL RUN ON ZOOM - The instructor is unable to come to the studio to teach in person, but they will run class from home via Zoom. Dancers can join via Zoom or request the recording of class.

  • CLASS CANCELED - The instructor is unable to come to the studio to teach in person or run class from home via Zoom. They will record a makeup class for dancers to do on their own time that will be sent out within one week.
